Theme: “Can Meaningful Entrepreneurship Shape Our Economy”.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this important conversation. The introduction of the term “meaningful” – as in meaningful entrepreneurship – re-positions the dialogue that we have been having nationally on entrepreneurship over the years; and I’m excited to be part of this evolved discussion. The first thought I had when I saw the theme, “Can Meaningful Entrepreneurship Shape Our Economy”, was meaningful how and meaningful to whom?
James Husbands awarded LLD Honorary Doctorate
During its 2012 round of graduation ceremonies, the University of the West Indies (UWI) conferred a total of 20 honorary doctorates. Mr James Husbands was awarded the LLD honorary doctorate at the UWI Cave Hill Campus in Barbados on October 20, 2012.

Solar Dynamics Participates in Alternative Energy Conference in Barbados
The Barbados government and the Central Bank of Barbados hosted a joint two-day alternative energy conference to educate stakeholders and the public about the benefits of utilising alternative energy sources.
The symposium, under the theme Alternative Energy: Pathway To A Sustainable Future In Barbados, was held September 6-7 September 2010 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

James was recently one of the featured presenters at The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association’s TIC2010 Greening Manufacturing held at The Hyatt, Port of Spain. Dr Raymond Wright formerly Managing Director of The Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica, was also one of the invited presenters to the conference, and gave James a copy of his new book.

Hot Water for the Hospitality Industry

The hospitality industry has two main energy drivers for guest comfort, air conditioning and hot water. These are the two most severe irritants for which guests express dissatisfaction.
The volume of hot water which has been found to be required to achieve guest satisfaction is 40 gallons per two person room with showers, and 60 gallons per room with whirlpool or other tubs…..
